Generates device IDs (PREFIX-YYMM-NNNN) and a unique setup-WiFi password per unit,
and registers them unclaimed. Print the SSID + password on each device's label.
A unit can only be paired after it powers on and connects.

Controls how much data is kept per device. Purge runs automatically every 24 hours.
Global defaults apply to every product. Override them per product below
(e.g. give a premium product longer history). Lower values = smaller DB = lower cloud cost.
Leave a field blank to inherit the global default. A filled value applies only to this product.
A snapshot of the whole database, verified by opening it before it is kept. The interval decides how much work a restore loses — every 6 hours means at most 6 hours gone.
Run the retention purge now using current settings above.
Use this after lowering limits to free space immediately.

Update one specific device now — applies (mandatory) on its next check-in, bypassing the staged rollout. Needs an uploaded image for that device's type. (Also available from Devices → click a device ID.)

Staged rollout: set a low % first (e.g. 5%), watch the Diagnostics → "Failures by Firmware" chart, then increase. Mandatory images apply automatically; otherwise the device asks the user.
Many people can share a level. Existing users are promoted; new emails are created.

The base channel “permissions” for generic alerts — these apply to every device. A device type can override them, and a premium device can override the type — most specific wins (device → device type → global). Email & Push are free; SMS & WhatsApp are paid and only fire on premium devices.

Set defaults for a whole product type. “Inherit” = use the global setting; the inherited value is shown in brackets. Device-type-specific alerts (e.g. “Irrigation finished”) appear here under their type. Devices of this type inherit these unless individually overridden below.
“Inherit” = use the device type’s setting (which itself falls back to global). The inherited value is shown in brackets.
A failure rate that follows one station is a faulty rig, not a build problem.
A rig is not a person. Each station gets its own key, scoped to posting test results and nothing else — so a leaked key cannot read the fleet, and the results say which rig measured them. The key is shown once.
